Recipharm AB, a Swedish a pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) is acquiring Kemwell’s CDMO businesses in India, US and Sweden in a strategic deal worth $ 205 million (1360 crore). Lenskart has raised a Series D round of investment of 400 crore from World Bank arm IFC along with the existing investors – TPG Growth, Adveq Management, IDG Ventures. MobiKwik Systems, mobile wallet company, has raised about $50 million (332 crore) in fresh capital, in a new round led by Japan’s GMO Payment Gateway and Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek. The Series-C round, also saw participation from the company’s existing investors Sequoia Capital and Asia-focused hedge fund Tree Line Asia. Interestingly, AZB has just poached Cyril Amarchand’s Competition Partner Nisha Kaur Uberoi. Confirming Percy’s departure, Managing Partner Ajay Bahl said, “We wish Percy the best.”  Both Percy and Cyril Shroff were not available for comment at the time of publishing the story. AZB, Duane Morris Selvam, Crawford Bayley in Govt’s 2700 crore NHPC disinvestment

The Ministry of Power, Government of India, has put up its shares worth 2700 crore in National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) for an offer for sale on the stock exchanges in India. Crawford Bayley & Co. acted as Indian counsel for the government through Counsel Shikhil Suri. Duane Morris Selvam LLP, led by India Practice Head Jamie Benson, was US counsel for the Government of India. AZB & Partners acted for the brokers, through a team comprising Partner Madhurima Mukherjee, Senior Associate Agnik Bhattacharya, and Associate Kumar Prashant. The sale will bring the government’s shareholding in NHPC down to 74.6%.

Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo Corp is acquiring 44% stake in Mumbai-based Excel Crop Care for 623.44 crore ($93m).
